Jefferson Farm & Gardens is currently taking reservations for school and group tours for spring and summer.

Members-Only Spring Celebration

The staff members at Jefferson Farm & Gardens are looking forward to celebrating Spring with you in this special event for members and their families as well as volunteers. Come visit our barn, feed the fish and view or collection of daffodils in bloom.

Berry Options for U-pick or Direct Marketing Workshop

Made possible through the Beginning Farmer Program, this workshop is being offered to those wanting to grow and market berries. June 23, 2010 from 8 a.m. - noon

Beginning Farmer Workshop- Farm Tractors 101

Curriculum to be covered includes:

  • selecting a tractor appropriate to your farm
  • tractor transmissions and shifting
  • using a tractor PTO with implements
  • using tractor hydraulics
  • tractor safety
  • using tractors with farm implements
  • brief overview of other farm equipment
  • practice time driving and operating one of the tractors at the farm

The workshop is Wednesday evening July 14, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. If that session fills, another one will be offered on July 15, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This workshop is to be held at Jefferson Farm & Gardens.

Registration is limited to 25 people. Cost is $20 in advance or $30 at the door, but advance registration is requested. To register, call Lorin Chann at the Jefferson Institute at 573-449-3518 or by Email.
