Jefferson Farm and Gardens     Jefferson Farm & Gardens has a variety of animals and attractions.  Jefferson Farm and Gardens is fun for the whole family!  The Farm is a great place to view mid-missouri crops and wild plants.

Our 7-acre man-made lake will will serve multiple educational and functional purposes.  Several areas are built or under development.

Shoreline

A one-half mile paved walking path has been built around the lake, allowing visitors to learn about conservation of natural resources while exercising. The perimeter of the lake will be planted with a wide buffer of native plants to provide a beautiful, naturalized setting and to discourage nesting geese.  The plants will also improve the water clarity and oxygen levels.  A riparian buffer will be planted on the south side of the Lake to improve water quality and filter agricultural runoff.

Nearby, a bridge leading to an island will enable visitors to enjoy a special vantage point on the lake to rest and contemplate the beauty of Jefferson Farm & Gardens.

Thank you to Chelsea Myers for this artist rendering of the island, pictured to the left.

Fishing Dock

A 16-foot by 20-foot floating fishing dock that will be installed on the east side of the lake.  This will be located in a highly-visible location adjacent to visitor parking and the primary indoor facility, the Visitor Education Complex.  On a regular basis, visitors will be encouraged to fish from the dock.  During clinics and other special events, fishing can take place along the shoreline.  People of all ages can bring their rod and reels as well as poles to fish.  The dock area will include a walkway and shore-side observation deck with benches so that guests can enjoy watching others fish.
